in a follow up to my previous question why the christian god? why is allah for example any different? they all stem from the same myth after all
i feel that the christian God is our creator, and He is also love - as shown in the sacrifice of His son for all of humanity. we have the opportunity respond to this love, to be filled with His spirit, and to do good works out of thanks for His goodness.
Allah, although referred to as merciful sometimes in the qu’ran, does not extend grace to people, but instead extends rules and regulations to which his people must submit to in order to gain favor. he does not have a personal relationship with his people, but sent prophets from time to time to restate his laws. good works are done as an attempt at salvation, but even these do not guaruntee allah will grant someone salvation.
